This is a high-octane performance video. We will build some cool, custom camera rigs to capture the performance in a highly energetic and and fun way.
TECHNIQUE AND EXECUTION
Establishing shots of an old venue with lots of character. The band takes the stage and picks up their instruments. As the song starts, we begin our first visual trick; tracking the camera to different instruments and objects in the scene. Anything that moves can be tracked. The visual can be best explained through the video clip below:
We use this technique throughout the verses. We can follow drum sticks, band members, microphones; the possibilities are endless.
At the explosion of the chorus, we switch it up to a new visual trick. We will have a custom camera rig that will allow us to place numerous cameras in close proximity to each other. When we cut from one camera to another in rapid succession, it will give the illusion that we are rotating from one angle to the next. Imagine this animated gif with even more angles:
The camera "moves" can happen in a wide variety of patterns; up, down, sideways, diagonally. We will settle on one angle, and then move to a new one. The shots can transition from one to another through this kind of movement, or we can cut to entirely new angles. The beat drives the camera movement.
Back at the second verse, we go back to the tracking trick. During the bridge, the lights dim and smoke starts to fill the stage. Beams of light travel through the smoke. When we arrive back at the next chorus, the camera flies through the smoke.
This video will have a TON of energy. The only shots without movement will be the opening and closing shot.
STYLE
The video will have a vintage, hip look to it. Grainy and saturated. Spotlights and lens flares will add to the energy. We'll get an awesome stylist to make David, Magnus, Filip and Frans look chic and mod.
